the secret life of snowmen
The paintings began as acrylic on crafter slate panels. Time consuming, they were each hand painted and then given out as gifts to various family and friends.
To expedite the process, I switched to painting a single slate to use as a master painting which can be scanned into a computer. The image is then used on custom greeting cards and as framed, signed and numbered prints given out as gifts.
As slate panels are becoming scarce and cost prohibitive, I switched to the more traditional acrylic on stretched canvas in 2007.
The stylized rendering of the snowman continues to evolve, as seen in these samples...
